| 5TH JULY INVITATION - TURFCARE SKILLS DAY AND 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS | An open invite to you, our members and customers, to come and visit the home and hub of Pitchcare, and join in an action packed day comprising of turf skills practical learning, site tour, catering and celebrations.
The Open Day is taking place on July the 5th 2012, at Pitchcare’s 2.5 Hectare, Telford based site, with turfcare skills and working demonstrations at neighbouring cricket, football and bowling facilities running at intervals throughout the day.
Anyone wishing to attend can arrive from 9.00am with skills learning and activities commencing at 10.00am. Refreshments and lunch are provided to all attendees. Guests will receive a welcome pack and are invited to participate in fun competitions such as a penalty shoot outs, nearest the pin competition, and one lucky winner will randomly be selected to receive a pallet of turfcare WORTH OVER £1000 products for their club or business.

| CRICKET TURFCARE SKILLS |
The following skills demonstrations are available for you to attend and improve your turf practices. These are being held throughout the Open Day 5th July, in conjunction with practical demonstrations for other sports surfaces.
Sprayer Calibration
Calibrating your sprayer is vital to make sure you don’t over dose or under dose your pitch. This practical demonstration will talk about the various procedures involved, such as adjusting your sprayer to the specific spraying conditions you choose for volume rate, driving speed, nozzles and spray pressure.
Fertiliser Application
Explains the importance of broadcasting fertiliser with uniform distribution over the whole area. This practical exercise will show you how to work out your area, work out the correct application rate, and then how to set your spreader and measure your walking intervals.
Preparing a Wicket for Play
In season cricket wicket maintenance repairs and preparation for games.
Setting up your Mower and Grinding Demonstration
Making sure that your mower provides a clean cut is vital to the health and performance of your grass. This practical demonstration shows you how to set up your mower height of cut and quality of cut prior to mowing. There will also be a practical demonstration on grinding a mower cylinder to show why it’s important to have your mower serviced at least once per season. | |
